We provide an assortment of breakfast fare for our guests served seven days a week. I like to find out when guests want breakfast and cater to their needs. For the most part, the most favorite time seems to be 8:30 or 9am. But I will ask you when you arrive and we will agree upon a time. For those very busy Hannibal weekends, you may assume that breakfast will be served at 9am so that everyone can enjoy the rest of their stay. Sometimes guests need to eat earlier, (please, not the crack of dawn, although I have done so on several occasions) or later – like 10:30. Just let me know so we can accommodate your schedule.
We usually eat in the dining room but you may eat in the kitchen or any other room in the house including the front porch. When the east porch is completed, by next summer, we will serve special breakfasts on the porch, weather permitting. You are also welcome to take dishes to your room, but room service is not available.
Breakfast during the week includes fresh seasonal fruits, cheeses, breads – more often than not homemade and English muffins(toaster provided) and homemade pastries. Spreads include cream cheese and butter. We also have an array of homemade Jams, nut butters and Nutella. We serve a baked egg dish of some kind during the week with ham, bacon or turkey sausage and vegetables..spinach, eggs, with goat cheese and Canadian bacon, for example.
Our Inn serves homemade granola as well as an assortment of hot, instant or cold cereal. We also have dried fruits and nuts (apricots, prunes, cranberries and walnuts) to top off your cereal or yogurt and granola. We serve Greek yogurt without sugar.
We grind our own Starbucks French Roast coffee each morning. It is strong so if you want a milder roast please let us know. We have a limited selection of decaf and hot chocolate and an assortment of teas, including black, green, decaf and herbal. We have milk, half & half and juice, too.
Dietary replacements (soy milk, rice milk and gluten free breads and cereals) for breakfast are provided on request. Please give us advanced notice.
On weekends (Saturday and Sunday) the menu includes specials, like zucchini or asparagus frittata or baked French toast or chocolate waffles, raspberry/white chocolate scones, plus a breakfast salad, in addition to the regular fare. We frequently serve Mimosas or Bloody Mary’s on the weekends as well. I especially like weekends.
We look forward to seeing you at breakfast!ront
