Come Home to the Belvedere

Information and Policies

I hate to have policies. Seems so formal – but if you stay here you need to know what the deal is.

Check-in and out

Preferred Check in between 3:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m.

Check out time is 12:00 p.m.

If you need to check in sooner/later or check out later, please let me know in advance.

Payment

On those days where there is a minimum two night stay, major credit card or advance payment is required for the total of first night’s charges to secure the reservation. We will take the money from your account for the first night’s stay as soon as you book your room. The remainder of your stay will be billed when you arrive. On all other reservations, you will be charged a small fee when you book the room and the remainder will be charged when you check out of The Belvedere Inn. We accept all major credit cards, Paypal, cash, and checks (if we know your relatives). State and local taxes are currently 14.85% and are in addition to listed rates. Rates and taxes apply for double occupancy of each room or suite except The Lucy Munger room which is quoted for one person. These rates are subject to change without notice. If there are more than two people in a room there will be extra charges which are identified at check out.

Minimum Stays & Cancellations

Certain weekends in Hannibal are very busy and for that reason we require a two night minimum. These weekends are identified on the reservation calendar. There is a three or four night minimum for some Holidays which will also be identified on the reservation calendar. On busy weekends – see two night minimum above – there is a five day cancellation notice otherwise the first night’s deposit is forfeited. (I know this seems like a lot but we are not the Hilton and need to be able to fill rooms if you bow out on us.) On regular days, we require 48 hours’ notice of cancellation or we will keep your deposit. But if you get caught in a blizzard or your plane falls out of the sky, give me a call and we’ll talk.

General Information

The Belvedere Inn is occupied by two very large dogs.  There is Gracie – our 8 year old rescued Newfoundland weighing in at 120 and George, our Golden Retriever, weighing in at 106. They will want you to pet them – especially George – but you will not have to do so unless you want to nor will you have to sleep with either of them! If you do not like dogs let me know and I will keep them away from you. But if you are allergic to them, we are more than happy to guide you to a lovely hotel or B & B that will make your stay in Hannibal an enjoyable one. Other than our dogs, we have a no pet policy.

There is no smoking in the house.  But, from time to time my pesky husband Bob will sneak a cigar on one of the porches which is where you may smoke as well.

Guns: Believe it or not, some people carry guns into B & Bs. While we respect your right to carry guns, we don’t allow them at The Belvedere Inn.

Red Wine!  I love it but sheets, towels and duvet covers do not. I thought we should have a policy that if you spill on the linens you will be charged for their replacement.   Several friends thought that red wine should be ok in all the rooms of the house except bedrooms. Either way – help me out here and be careful with that stuff.

Each bed is furnished with two down pillows & a down comforter.  If you are allergic to down, please let me know in advance so that your comfort can be assured.

Non ADA accessible:  The Belvedere Inn has several flights of stairs, and no elevator, so lighter luggage is recommended. The Inn was built circa 1859 and therefore is not handicapped accessible. There are twenty steep stairs between each floor of the house so get your walking shoes ready.

Refrigerator:  There is a guest fridge on the 2nd floor. Use it for water, pop, wine, etc. If it gets too full, see me for storage in the kitchen.
