I hate policies. Seems so formal – but if you stay here you need to know what the deal is.
Check-in and out
Preferred Check in is between 3:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. If you need to check in sooner, please give me a call to make arrangements. We will be happy to keep your luggage safe until your room is ready if you arrive before it has been cleaned.
Check out time is 12:00 p.m. If you need to check out later, please let me know in advance.
PaymentWe accept all major credit cards, cash, and checks (if we know your relatives). State and local taxes are 14.35% and are in addition to listed rates. Rates and taxes apply for double occupancy of each room except The Lucy Munger room, which is for one person. Rates are subject to change without notice. If there are more than two people in a room, there will be extra charges when the reservation is made.
Minimum Stays & Cancellations
Certain weekends in Hannibal are very busy and require a two-night minimum stay. There may be a three or four night minimums for some Holidays. In these cases, minimum stays will be identified on the reservation calendar.
Guests will be charge the full amount of their booking if they cancel less than 5 days prior to check-in. If guests are a no-show, they will be charged as though they have stayed here. If you cancel your reservation 6 to 13 days in advance, you will be charged a cancellation fee of one night’s lodging plus tax. But if you get caught in a blizzard or your plane falls out of the sky, give me a call and we’ll talk. Reservations cancelled at least 14 days prior to the check-in date will incur no charge.
The Belvedere Inn is occupied by two very large dogs. There is Gracie – our 9- year-old rescued Newfoundland weighing in at 120 and George, our Golden Retriever, weighing in at 106. They will want you to pet them – especially George – but you will not need to unless you want nor will you have to sleep with them! If you do not like dogs let me know and I will keep them away. If you are terribly allergic to dogs, we are more than happy to guide you to a lovely hotel or B & B that will make your stay in Hannibal an enjoyable one. Besides them, no other pets are allowed.
There is no smoking in the house. But, from time to time my pesky husband Bob will sneak a cigar on one of the porches which is where you may smoke as well.
Guns: Believe it or not, some people take guns into B & Bs. While we respect your right to carry them, we don’t allow them at The Belvedere Inn.
Red Wine! I love it, but sheets, towels and duvet covers do not. After experimenting on how to handle guests who are responsible for those pesky stains, we have decided to charge an extra $25 for cleaning should you get wine or dark liquor stains on sheets, blankets, duvet covers, pillows or towels. If we must replace any of the above, you will be charged for the full cost of replacement. I don’t like to do this, but linens take a beating anyway and red wine, chocolate liquor, etc., just make it much, much worse. So, help me out here and be careful with that stuff.
Each bed is furnished with two down pillows & a down comforter plus two non-down pillows. If you are allergic to down, please let me know in advance so that your comfort can be assured.Non-ADA accessible: The Inn was built circa 1859 and is not handicapped accessible. We recommend lighter luggage because The Belvedere Inn has no elevator. Rooms are located on the 2nd and third floors of the house and the Belvedere Suite has an additional set of stairs. There are twenty steep stairs between each floor, so get your walking shoes ready!
Refrigerator: There is a guest fridge on the 2nd floor. Use it for water, pop, wine, etc. If it gets too full, see me for storage in the kitchen. The Belvedere Suite has it’s own fridge.
