I hate policies. They seem so formal. But when you stay here, you need to know what the deal is.
Check-in and out
We prefer you Check-in between 3:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. If you need to check in sooner, please call to make arrangements. If you arrive before your room is ready, we will be happy to keep your luggage safe or have you wait in the Billiards parlor. Likewise, please let us know if you will be coming later.
Check out time is 12:00 p.m. If you need to check out later, please let me know in advance.
PaymentWe accept all major credit cards, cash, and checks (if we know your relatives). State and local taxes are 14.35% and on top of listed rates. Rates and taxes apply to double occupancy of each room except The Lucy Munger, which is for one person. Rates are subject to change without notice.
We will charge you extra for each additional person over two when you make the reservation.
Minimum Stays & Cancellations
Certain weekends in Hannibal require a two-night minimum stay. There may be a three-or-four night minimums for some Holidays. In these cases, minimum stays will be identified on the reservation calendar.
Guests will be charged the full amount of their booking if they cancel less than 5 days prior to check-in. If guests are a no-show, they will be charged as though they have stayed here. If you cancel your reservation 6 to 13 days in advance, you will be charged a cancellation fee of one night’s stay plus tax. But if you get caught in a blizzard or your plane falls out of the sky, give me a call and we’ll talk. If you cancel your reservation at least 14 days prior to the check-in date you will incur no charge.
The Belvedere Inn is occupied by two very large dogs. Gracie is our rescued Newfoundland who weighs 120 and George is our Golden Retriever who weighs 106. If you do not like dogs tell me and I will keep them away. If you are allergic to dogs, we will guide you to a lovely B & B that will make your stay in Hannibal an enjoyable one. No other pets are allowed except for service dogs.
There is no smoking in the house. But, from time to time my pesky husband will sneak a cigar on one of the porches which is where you may smoke as well.
Guns are not allowed. While we respect your right to carry guns, we don’t allow them at The Belvedere Inn.
Red Wine! I love it! But sheets, towels and duvet covers do not. If you get wine or dark liquid stains on sheets, blankets, duvet covers, pillows or towels we will charge you an extra $25 for cleaning. If we must replace any of the above, we will charge you for the full cost of replacement. I don’t like to do this, but linens take a beating anyway and red wine, chocolate liquor, etc., just make it much, much worse. So, help me out here and be careful with that stuff.
Each bed is furnished with two down pillows & a down comforter plus two non-down pillows. If you are allergic to down, please let me know in advance.
Refrigerator: There is a guest fridge on the 2nd floor. Use it for water, pop, wine, etc. If it gets too full, see me for storage in the kitchen. The Belvedere Suite has its own fridge. There is a fridge in the kitchen in Belvedere Too.
Information for those with disabilitiesNon-ADA accessible: The Inn was built circa 1859 and is not handicapped accessible. We recommend lighter luggage because The Belvedere Inn has no elevator. Rooms are located on the 2nd and third floors of the house and the Belvedere Suite has an additional set of stairs. There are twenty steep stairs between each floor, so get your walking shoes on!
Belvedere Too is Handicapped Friendly
Belvedere Too, located at 214 North 6th Street, is our newest facility. It is a house attached to The Belvedere Inn. Rooms in Belvedere Too are located on the first floor. In order to get into the house, you will need to go up four low-rise steps. Once inside, door entryways and hallways are wide. We have walk-in showers with a 4-inch curb.
